Strategy about pronunciation of words?

I have a child who reads well for his level, but he does not pronounce words correctly. He pronounces /h/ for /s/ and has difficulty with blends, as well as /f/ and /r/ sounds. With heavy teacher prompting, he is able to pronounce words correctly. What CAFE strategy would be appropriate for him, if any? Or should his pronunciation of words be a separate issue? He understands what he is reading, but unless I am looking at the words while he is reading, I cannot understand what he says.

I would say that this is probably an issue that need to be discussed with your speech therapist/teacher. He/she may be able to give you some specific strategies to try with your student.
