Putting Work on Writing and Working with Words in the same rotation

I attended the June 6th and 7th workshop (which was wonderful.) One of the discussions the first day was about putting the writing and word works in the same rotation, ten minutes of each. Are there any articles, videos or documents showing how this works, or ideas and suggestions anywhere?
