Assuming that your reading program introduces strategies for your students, you can match those up with CAFE strategies and add them to the CAFE board as you introduce them through your lessons. Keep your lessons at the "mini" length as the Sisters and brain research suggest. Probably your writing program will be separate from your reading time, as in a writer's workshop format. However, you can encourage your students to use what they've learned in your lessons while doing work on writing.
